BT is launching Networked IT Assurance, a combined voice
and data support service for small and medium-sized businesses
(SMBs).
According to research by BT almost 43% of SMBs still operate
their IT systems without any maintenance support, putting their
business at risk, and leaving a gaping hole in their business
continuity planning.
BT claims its new service will help SMBs maintain and safeguard
their investment in both IT and communications systems,
specifically Lan and PBX (private branch exchange) phone systems.
Networked IT Assurance will support customers with both BT and
non-BT equipment.
To complement the service, BT is introducing BT Reward, a scheme
where customers can redeem points earned for service contract
values and duration for items such as Lan training, hardware or
additional support options.
Bill Murphy, managing director of BT Business, says, "Ensuring
communications systems are kept up and running is crucial. For
SMBs, which often do not have the in-house capability to remedy
problems, being able to cost effectively outsource maintenance is
vital.
“We have developed our portfolio of dedicated and affordable IT
support services in an effort to help SMBs both minimise downtime
and embrace technology in a way that delivers benefit to their
business both now and in the future.”
