UK SMB Software Logistics has chosen Oracle E-Business
Suite Special Edition to replace its existing legacy systems with a
single, integrated product to drive greater efficiency and
productivity in the business.
Software Logistics is a single source supplier of digital media,
print production and distribution and required a software solution
that would enable every user and partner to see the status of a
project in real-time, thereby improving customer collaboration and
project management.
The selection of Oracle is designed to provide the company with
a clear upgrade path, as it can adopt components from the suite as
it expands and functional requirements evolve. In addition,
Software Logistics hopes the Oracle solution will help it reduce
administration and maintenance costs through the standardisation of
its enterprise applications onto a single system.
The first part of the implementation involves an Oracle reseller
mapping the business processes of Software Logistics to Oracle
products including financials, supply chain management and CRM. The
first phase of deployment is likely to go live in March, and the
second phase is scheduled for June.
Software Logistics is deploying modules including eProcurement,
project management and supplier management, and will look at
additional functionality as required. The company will deploy
Oracle E-Business Suite Special Edition onto a HP Server
environment running Red Hat Linux.
Barry Hurley, managing director, Software Logistics, says, "We
needed a system that would take us to the next level in terms of
business efficiency and support. We recognised that a single,
end-to-end system… was critical to our future."
