Yamaha Motor UK has installed business intelligence
software from Cognos to help it assess business performance across
its network of more than 400 motorcycle, marine and power products
dealers.
The software, which was implemented by Cognos partner Simpson
Associates, includes Cognos' Powerplay and Impromptu business
intelligence tools. It will be used by Yamaha business managers to
analyse sales data from across its various business divisions, the
company said.
The software will provide weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
on dealer and territory performance by transaction value, volume
margin and product. It has also been linked to Yamaha Motor's sales
order system to allow managers to analyse data such as sales and
margin analysis by territory or division and sales by product or
group.
Nick Batchelor, divisional manager of computer services at
Yamaha Motor UK, said, "The main driver behind this technology
investment was to give managers and directors across the company a
more accurate picture of the day-to-day performance of the
business."
