Service management is the focus of the latest specialist
group to be formed by BCS members. The group aims to promote best
practice and encourage professional development in this
field.
"The emergence of the Service Management Specialist Group is of
particular significance with today's fast-moving businesses
demanding better-quality IT services," said group chairman David
Cuthbertson. "The group allows leaders in the field to share their
skills and experiences, as well as developing best practice as
technology advances. We are planning a series of events and expect
rapid growth in membership as the group develops."
Cuthbertson said enthusiasm for the topic was reflected in the
turn-out and "keen interest" in the group's recent inaugural
meeting.
