Microsoft has released Service Pack 2 for its Office
2003 collaboration suite, which includes a number of security,
stability and performance enhancements.
The service pack includes an enhancement to Outlook to help
prevent phishing and an improved junk e-mail filter, said
Microsoft. Junk messages are rendered as plain text, preventing
HTML information from being viewed inadvertently. Links are also
now disabled in junk e-mail messages with SP2.
Microsoft said the service pack addressed application stability
with fixes and enhancements for Office applications and
servers.
Finally, the service pack provides support for SQL Server 2005
and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. Windows SharePoint Services and
Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 have been updated to include support
for the upcoming releases of SQL Server 2005 and Visual Studio
2005.
The service pack is anything from 50Mbyte to more than 100Mbyte
in size to download, depending on which components are
selected.
