Oracle has added an end-user document-sharing tool and
an improved content management server to the Oracle Collaboration
Suite 10g.
The new Collaboration Workspaces feature enables employees to
post shared documents and scheduling information with other
employees on a web server.
This feature is similar to that offered within Microsoft’s
SharePoint server solution.
In addition, the new Oracle Content Services feature is an
upgrade to Oracle Files, which is a program for managing and
sharing files.
Oracle Content Services is based on web services protocols, to
make it easier to integrate with business applications and
therefore improve server content management.
The collaboration suite is primarily designed to work on top of
Oracle’s 10g database product.
