core
Dell has added two PowerEdge servers to its Enterprise product
line, featuring Intel dual-core processors. Pricing for the
PowerEdge 830 and PowerEdge 850 servers starts at £669 for the
PowerEdge 830 Pentium D Dual Core Entry.
Ricoh lowers cost of colour printing
Ricoh has launched a printer designed to combat escalating
colour printing costs. The Aficio CL4000 colour laser printer
offers both mono and colour output speeds of 25 pages per minute.
It is aimed at SMEs and enterprise workgroups, and is priced from
£1,895.
D-Link powers Ethernet switches
Networking products supplier D-Link has released new stackable
switches featuring full power over Ethernet support across all
ports. The D-Link xStack 3800 series switches are 24-Port Stackable
Layer 3 10/100 Mbps with two built-in Gigabit Copper Ports, and two
additional combo copper/SFP Gigabit Ports
EMC software handles video surveillance
data
EMC has made available a management solution for digital
surveillance data. Called the EMC Surveillance Analysis and
Management Solution (SAMS), it enables the storage, archiving, fast
searching and analysis of video and other data from physical
security devices such as surveillance cameras and access control
systems.
PixAlert launches five-step anti-porn
service
PixAlert, which produces software to monitor and control
pornographic images and messages in the workplace, has announced a
new five-step Risk Assessment service. It is designed to help
organisations identify threats posed by illegal or inappropriate
images stored on corporate PCs. The service includes reviewing
corporate legal and HR policies and assessing the quantity and
severity of illicit images on a network.
