Lewis Silkin Solicitors (LSS) is a commercial law firm
with offices in London and Oxford. It was established over fifty
years ago and has expertise in diverse legal practises such as
property, sports and construction. LSS has 43 partners and employs
250 staff.
Customer requirements
Lawyers and key staff at LSS were required to constantly juggle
the diverse demands of their clients, their cases and the business
whilst being on the road travelling between courts, the office and
client premises. Jan Durant, Head of IT at LSS, provided a mobile
solution to deliver flexible working opportunities for staff. With
anytime, anywhere access to emails, the solution allowed staff to
deliver excellent client service and access corporate information
when out of the office. However, poor customer service and high
mobile related costs from her existing operator forced her to
reconsider her options.
Mobile Solution
LSS opted to partner with Orange. They required a cost

installed with a minimum of fuss. To this end LSS chose the Orange
Blackberry solution. Currently 50 LSS staff use the devices to help
them stay in touch with their colleagues and clients. Orange
BlackBerry email solution enables Lewis Silkin’s partners and
employees to stay connected to company email and attachments,
calendars and address books when out of the office.
