Akonix, a provider of business products for secure,
managed and integrated multi-network enterprise instant messaging
has appointed Bill Harmer as managing director for UK and Europe,
Middle East and Africa.
Harmer will be responsible for leading Akonix’s EMEA operations
to provide enterprises with access to a comprehensive,
best-of-breed instant messaging (IM) management product.
At the vanguard of the offerings is the Akonix L7 Enterprise
service with which Akonix provides global corporations with IM
security capabilities, protecting against IM viruses, malware and
spam over IM.
Akonix L7 Enterprise offers auditing and logging capabilities
for compliance with industry and government regulations, enforcing
internal controls for legal, confidential and corporate standards
across both public and enterprise IM networks.
Harmer said, “As enterprise-wide instant messaging use continues
