Computer Weekly is partnering with the British Computer
Society for the 2005 IT Professional Awards. The 22 awards
recognise excellence in categories spanning business, technology
and individual achievements.
Computer Weekly editor Hooman Bassirian said, "These awards provide
a platform to showcase excellence in our profession, so we are
delighted to be associated with the BCS for this year's programme.
The winners will provide a beacon of best practice at a time when
demands on IT professionals are more varied and pressing than
ever."
BCS president David Morriss said, "We are expecting an increase in
entries again this year as more people recognise the BCS IT
Professional Awards as the best way to gain recognition for
industry best practice.
"The awards are intended to mirror the changes in the IT industry.
This year we are recognising developments in the rapidly growing
mobile computing sector and we will continue last year's focus on
women in IT."
The first closing date for entries is 24 March.
