The Metropolitan Police has shortlisted consortia lead
by EDS and Capgemini to run a major consolidated IT services
contract for the capital’s law enforcement agency.
The Met aims to appoint a single core supplier to support its
information, communication and technology (ICT) systems. This will
streamline contract management, provide improved management
reporting and cost data.
The new contracts will also allow for benchmarking of service
costs against market rates to ensure that they remain competitive
over the life of the contract, the Met said.
The contracts with our existing suppliers, including EDS, have
been extended to ensure continuity of service as the Met completes
its tender process, the Met said. It would not reveal the price of
the consolidated contract.
