Kavado has
launched a distributed web applications and services threat
management system (TMS) for enterprises.
The Defiance TMS
system provides scalable intrusion detection and prevention for
critical data across the business without impacting on data traffic
flow. The system is seen as an alternative to “point-based” systems
that just protect a particular server or gateway.
“Balancing
business needs and operational performance against information
security requirements is a continuous challenge for enterprises,"
said Jim Slaby, an analyst at Yankee Group.
"Kavado’s Defiance
TMS brings some unique capabilities to the intrusion detection and
prevention product segment that can help companies more effectively
detect, alert, and block attacks without adversely affecting
operations,” Slaby said.
Vikram Desai,
Kavado chief executive officer, said, “Since hacker attacks can
occur at multiple points across an enterprise, Defiance TMS takes
web application security a major step beyond today’s point
application firewall solutions.”
Defiance TMS
comprises four major components. Defiance Monitor is a web
application intrusion detection system (IDS), Defiance Gateway is a
web application intrusion prevention system (IPS), Defiance
Management Server is a centralised repository of web application
security data and logs, and Defiance Security Console is a unified
administration, management, reporting and forensics platform.
Pricing for the
complete Defiance TMS solution starts at £29,500.
