IBM is to introduce a monthly security bulletin to
inform users and service providers about attacks on the critical
infrastructure of the internet.
The IBM Global Business Security Index will assess, measure and
analyse global network security and business threats and attack
trends, IBM said. Based on reports from 2,700 information security
staff at IBM and 500,000 monitored devices, IBM said its alert
service would provide businesses with a threat landscape.
The report, which IBM said could be customised by industry,
tracks real and potential IT threats to a business. It will cover
threats to IT network and infrastructure, including potential and
real threats that could damage a user’s business.
The IBM Global Business Security Index will also cover business
continuity trends, statistics and recommendations for keeping
employees, customers, suppliers and partners connected with
critical business information during natural disasters and power
failures.
