Outsourcing and services company Computer Sciences (CSC)
boosted its revenue by 30% to $4bn, in its fourth financial quarter
for 2004, compared with just over $3bn in revenue for the same
period last year.
The higher revenue was only part of the good financial news for
CSC, which released its quarterly results yesterday. Net income for
the quarter, which ended 2 April, was $190.6m, up from $162.7m.
Total revenue for 2004 was $14.7bn in revenue, compared with
$11.3bn for 2003. Net income for the full fiscal year was $519.4m,
up 18% from $440.2m in 2003.
The higher revenues and earnings were the result of increased
business with the US government, as well as increased outsourcing
services and business acquisitions, including the purchase of
DynCorp.
CSC expected revenue to grow between 8% and 10% for the first
quarter of 2005.
