Premiership club Leicester City struggled to maintain
secure network management practices until it discovered e-mail
security tools offered by GFI Software.
The club is now said to enjoy a secure network environment, free
of e-mail viruses, threats and spam, through the deployment of the
GFI MailSecurity and GFI MailEssentials bundle, which aims to
provide e-mail content security and anti-spam protection for
Exchange Server and other SMTP mail servers. Details are featured
in a case study issued by GFI.
"Mail relaying was becoming a problem, and so was the increasing
threat of viruses spreading freely across the network. ICT
resources were stretched to the limit, and managing a network
became frustrating and made inefficient use of ICT time," said
Yusuf Denath, Leicester City FC's business systems and ICT
manager.
Leicester decided to purchase a server-based e-mail content
security and anti-spam protection solution. Among other criteria,
the solution had to be easy to set up and manage, and be able to
run unattended.
The club opted for the GFI MailSecurity/MailEssentials bundle to
meet its needs, the free trial version having enabled Leicester to
test the software fully before purchasing.
Denath says, "We are now less susceptible to incoming viruses
and enjoy better use of ICT time as well as improved user
relations. The products are out of sight, but definitely not out of
mind. Threats of infections are minimised and our content filtering
and monitoring by file types has improved."
