The US Air Force Pentagon Communications Agency (AFPCA)
has signed a 10-year, $600m deal with Lockheed Martin Information
Technology and its partners for a wide range of managed IT
services.
Lockheed Martin will provide classified voice, video and data
assistance, as well as call centre operations, enterprise IT
management, classified systems support, program management and
engineering.
AFPCA has about 7,500 US Department of Defense users who provide
a full range of unclassified and classified, mission-essential IT
services.
The Lockheed contract will cover a six-month-long transition
period and nine one-year options.
The AFPCA serves officials in Air Force headquarters, the Office
of the Secretary of the Air Force, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the
National Military Command Center and other government agencies
working with the Defense Department.
Lockheed is the lead supplier for the contract, which
consolidates some 50 existing contracts with multiple
suppliers.
