Hewlett-Packard is to supply hardware to The Walt Disney
Company in a 10-year deal.
The announcement was made at the Walt Disney World Resort in
Orlando kick-starts a joint advertising campaign to promote
Mission: Space, a new attraction at Disney's Epcot Center,
which was designed by both companies.
Neither company disclosed the potential size of the 10-year
contract, nor did they specify what hardware will be supplied by HP
to Disney as part of the deal.
One of HP's first sales as a company was an oscillator to help
Walt Disney enhance the musical score for the animated film
Fantasia in 1937, Fiorina said. Since then, Disney has purchased a
great deal of hardware from HP, including the 70,000 HP PCs and
10,000 Intel servers in use.
