Oracle has released the second version of its
Collaboration Suite e-mail and collaboration software.
The upgrade has a host of new features including Oracle Web
Conferencing, which offers online meetings, co-browsing, desktop
sharing, white board, and other real time collaboration features.
Other new features in Release 2 include support for nine more
languages and BlackBerry mobile e-mail devices.
Collaboration Suite competes with products from Microsoft and
IBM. Also included in the new version are improved tools to migrate
from Microsoft's Exchange and IBM's Lotus Notes to Collaboration
Suite and to make the Oracle product "co-exist" with Microsoft's or
IBM's software, Oracle said.
Oracle Collaboration Suite Release 2 costs $60 per named user
for a perpetual licence or $15 for an annual licence per named
user. Oracle Web Conferencing can also be licensed separately for
$45 per named user.
