The German subsidiary of Vodafone is offering customers
a mobile data card which will enable them to access three different
high-speed mobile data networks.
The Mobile Connect Card provides access to the HSCSD (High Speed
Circuit Switched Data), GPRS and WLan (Wireless Lan) networks
operated by Vodafone D2.
The German operator, together with Vodafone's service
development unit in Düsseldorf, is largely responsible for
developing mobile data services for the group's European
operations.
In addition to its nationwide HSCSD and GRPS footprint, Vodafone
D2 provides WLan coverage in several locations, including Lufthansa
airport business lounges and Accor hotels.
The mobile data card comes with software for e-mail and text
messaging as well as connectivity to corporate intranets, Vodafone
D2 said.
The card is available at a discounted price of €248 (£177)
including value added tax through to 30 June, together with a
Vodafone mobile data service contract ranging from €3.95 (£2.80) to
€44.95 (£31.99).
