Nortel Networks' Version 3.0 of its Succession
Enterprise Software launches today (Monday), and will be available
on both its traditional Time Division Multiplexing PBX and its
newer IP-based PBX systems
Nortel has merged the software offered on its Succession 1000
family of IP-based PBXs with the software on its TDM-based Meridian

install base with newer features which were only available on
IP-based systems.
Helping Nortel deliver new applications to IP phones over the
Meridian 1 and Succession 1000 systems is partner Net6. The startup
develops technology that allows customers to adjust business
applications for delivery on wireless devices including web-enabled
cellular phones and Palm- and Pocket PC-based PDAs.
This is accomplished via its Net 6 Transformation Gateway
appliance and software, which Nortel's partners can now resell.
Instant messaging, video communication, and video calling are
examples of applications customers want to have available over
IP-based phones.
