St Albans City and District Council is hoping to boost
turnout through its extended e-voting pilot in this week's local
elections.
Mike Lovelady, St Albans' returning officer, is optimistic that
local turnout will rise above the 38% figure seen in last year's
elections. "The main objective of our pilot is to increase voter
choice - if the byproduct of that is to increase voter turnout,
then all well and good," he said.
St Albans has extended its two-ward e-voting pilot from last year's
local election to the rest of the city's 20 wards.
