Microsoft has released a software add-in today (Friday) that lets
users of IBM's Lotus Domino servers access their e-mail through
Microsoft's Outlook 2002 messaging client.
Outlook was designed to run with a Microsoft Exchange server.
Microsoft Outlook 2002 Connector will now let companies with Domino
e-mail servers, or with a mixed infrastructure of Lotus and
Exchange servers, use Outlook.
They will also be able to tie the e-mail application into Microsoft
calendar and contact management functions, Microsoft and IBM said
in a joint statement.
The add-in is free to any customer with an Outlook 2002 licence,
Microsoft said.
