Ford has awarded security provider Internet Security Systems a
three-year, multimillion-dollar contract to protect the carmaker's
entire global IT infrastructure.
Ford will deploy ISS's RealSecure Protection Platform across its
entire enterprise. ISS will also provide around-the-clock security
services. The ISS's platform centrally manages security across
multiple locations and network segments, including wireless
networks, branch offices and mobile workers.
RealSecure protects enterprises against constantly evolving online
threats, merging intrusion detection and response, vulnerability
assessment and security data collection and analysis into one
centrally managed platform that helps companies save money.
"This defence-in-depth strategy is paramount in today's online
environment of proliferating threats that reach every point of
compromise in an organisation, from the network and server all the
way to the desktop," said ISS chief executive officer Tom Noonan.
