Xerox to axe up to 400 North America staff

Thursday 03 October 2002 10:27
Xerox has announced plans to cut between 350 and 400 jobs at its North American Solutions Group as part of its ongoing cost-cutting measures.

The job cuts will have no impact on direct sales or service, according to Xerox spokeswoman Christa Carone.

The cuts will affect support and administrative staff. Staff will be notified in November, she said.

The North American Solutions Group oversees sales of products and services by the Xerox direct sales force in the US and Canada, Carone said.

The company has achieved around $1.3bn (£0.8bn) in cost savings over the last two years and plans to trim an additional $1bn (£0.6bn) from its books.
