MainControl and Magic Solutions have joined forces to create an
enterprise service offering that features full IT asset lifestyle
management and a consolidated desk platform.
The two-phase integration melds MainControl's MC/Empower asset
management product with Magic's Enterprise Service Desk as an
add-on feature to both products by this summer, said Hector
Navarez, the vice-president of marketing of MainControl.
The integrated technology targets busy, cash-strapped
helpdesks.
"Most service level agreements are tied to payment dollars," said
Navarez. "That's a hard dollar amount associated with missing
SLAs."
Analysts believe the combined offering - which will compete with
market leader Peregrine Systems - should be enough to give
customers an alternative option for their IT asset management
needs.
The company is a division of Network Associates.
