Drinks group Guinness can take a global approach to IT purchasing
with the roll-out of new service management software.
Following the merger with UDV, Guinness has now implemented a
single service management platform Peregrine's Remedy Service
Management suite.
The improved visibility offered by the system will enable the
drinks giant to look at standard processes for helpdesk operations
and global supplier agreements.
Guinness has just completed a feasibility study for plans to roll
out the software beyond its UK, US and European divisions.
Carmel Tyrrell, global systems and services manager for Guinness,
said the set-up was aimed at providing full visibility of Guinness
computing assets as well as providing the basis for global and
regional IT teams.
"We can keep track of all jobs we need to carry out," said Tyrrell.
The management software enables Guinness to capture information and
keep track of details such as licence agreements.
