Ban spam, said 55% of the IT managers polled in this week's Computer Weekly/Harvey Nash Big Question survey.

They were expressing their views in the wake of a vote by European telecoms ministers on Monday to outlaw unsolicited commercial e-mail and text messages and to allow law enforcement agencies access to e-mail and phone logs.

Only 42% of respondents thought spam should not be banned.
