Nokia took the wraps off its latest mobile phones and Bluetooth
wireless network devices at a conference in Barcelona.
The Nokia 7650 sports a colour display, built-in digital camera,
photograph album, GPRS services and support for multimedia
messaging. The device enables users to take photos and send them by
e-mail, and combine audio, graphics and text into messages,
according to Nokia.
The 7650, which is an extended GSM (EGSM) phone, will be available
in Europe, Africa and Asia in the second quarter of 2002. Pricing
information was not immediately available.
Nokia's 5210 WAP phone has a built-in thermometer and clock. The
Nokia 6510 offers features such as a mobile wallet, FM radio tuner,
and WAP and GPRS services. The devices will ship in Europe, Africa
and Asia in the first quarter of 2002. No pricing terms were
available.
Nokia also unveiled three devices that use the Bluetooth wireless
personal area networking protocol. The company will ship its Nokia
Connectivity Card and Wireless Headset and Car Kit to European and
Asian customers in the first quarter of next year. All three
devices employ the Bluetooth 1.1 specification. Prices were not
immediately provided.
