Computer 2000 is hitting the road this week to help resellers
promote and sell Windows XP to SMEs and home users.
The distributor is launching a three-month tour of the UK with a
mobile exhibition which C2000's marketing manager Nigel Judd feels
will help resellers and retailers to drive their Windows XP
business.
"This initiative has been designed with one aim - to help our
reseller partners drive incremental business on the back of the
launch of Windows XP," said Judd.
"This is a major opportunity for SME, retail and mail-order
resellers to bring Windows XP to life for their customers, increase
exposure of Windows XP and drive their sales."
The mobile exhibition, which is the result of a major collaboration
between C2000, Microsoft and key vendors including Intel, Cisco, HP
and Compaq, will also be used at Microsoft's own small business
events.
Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see some of the latest
technology from the vendors that are working with Windows XP, such
as Cisco's Aironet wireless networking technologies.
Intel will be demonstrating how its webcams can be used to harness
the new multimedia capabilities of Windows XP.
Microsoft will provide demonstrations of Windows XP and experts
will be on hand to discuss the new software. Mark Walton, Microsoft
business development manager, stressed the importance of initiative
in the roll out of the operating system:
"We are right behind this campaign. The mobile roadshow will help
us to take the message about Windows XP and the many benefits it
offers to both the business and the home user, to a wider market
and help Microsoft partners to generate business around the
launch."
