Nick HuberBradford & Bingley Building Society has unveiled plans for a
property portal in a partnership with Internet service provider
Freeserve.
Due to be launched in the autumn, the portal will offer
Freeserve's 3.4 million users a complete picture of homes on the
market in their area. The building society declined to reveal its
overall investment in the project.
The portal will also have links to financial services from
Bradford & Bingley in a bid to offer a one-stop-shop for
homebuyers.
Charcolonline, the online mortgage broker acquired by the
building society earlier this year, will provide mortgage advice on
more than 45 lenders.
The building society said, "It helps us get a real foothold in
the Internet market without having to set-up our own Internet
arm."
The portal will be developed mainly by Bradford & Bingley
and Freeserve staff.
