Anite revealed a 37 per cent increase in profits and strong growth
in each of its core divisions in its preliminary year-end results
earlier this month.
According to its financial report, the company saw its pre-tax
profits rise from £10m in 1999, to £13.7m for the period ended 30
April 2000.
Anite's telecoms division enjoyed the largest growth of its
three core businesses, reporting a 150 per cent increase in profit,
while Anite Travel's profits jumped almost 30 per cent to
£2.2m.
Anite's consultancy businesses also experienced a successful
year overall, notes the report, with a 52 per cent rise in turnover
to £76.6m, and a 60 per cent improvement in operating profits to
£7.5m.
Chairman Alec Daly attributes much of the company's success to
the "significant refocusing" of its solutions business and says, "I
am pleased to report another successful year for Anite. Within our
chosen market sectors of telecoms, finance, travel and public
sector, we now have well managed, strongly growing businesses that
will exploit the buoyant demand for IT services."
