Tina Milton The Institution of Analysts and Programmers
(IAP), which represents over 3,000 IT workers, is organising a
guided tour for members, their families and friends to Bletchley
Park on May 13.
Also known as Station X during the Second World War, when it was
home to famous code breakers such as Alan Turing , Bletchley Park
is also widely considered to be the birthplace of computing and
communications.
Following the Cryptology Trail, visitors can look at the secret
methods and innovative machines that were developed there to crack
German codes. Visitors on the IAP trip will be able to see the
rebuilt Colossus machine and many other mementoes of particular
interest to computer buffs for less than £20 per head including
lunch. Call 020 8567 2118 for more information.
