IT security firm Kaspersky Lab has joined forces with research firm, The Bathwick Group, to conduct a study of how companies are using IT to respond to changing business needs.
The study is to be based on an online survey of IT decision-makers at organisations of all sizes and sectors in Western Europe and North America.
In return for completing the "Be Ready Assessment" questionnaire, companies will receive an evaluation of their IT security risks.
Kaspersky Lab says the report will provide information on security priorities and potential areas of focus along with suggested next steps and quick wins to help the company prepare for the threats that lie ahead.
Participating companies will also get free, early access to the full research report and personalised peer comparisons.
"We urge businesses to take the assessment," says Andrew Lintell, corporate sales director, UK & Ireland, Kaspersky Lab.
The study, he says, will help gather the most relevant data and provide direct business benefits for participating companies.
"The personalised report they receive will stimulate debate and help with decision-making and planning by highlighting IT security risks that need to be addressed," he said.
The online questionnaire will guide companies through a number of critical areas, such as IT security risks and challenges, their approach to IT security and the implementation of new technologies.
Providing instant feedback on where an organisation might most effectively focus its resources, represents a valuable planning input for IT and business managers, says Jonathan Steel, chairman of The Bathwick Group.
Responses received before 30 December 2011 will be included in the research report, which is to be published in early 2012.
