Just under half of Australians with both mobile and fixed-line services prefer to use their mobile.
According to a new Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) report, 45% of Australians with both a mobile and a fixed-line at home prefer to use their mobile.
Just 55% prefer to use their landline, while 10% do not have a mobile.
Out of all those surveyed, one quarter said they would think about replacing their landline service, with cost being the biggest consideration in that decision. Many said they would ditch their landline and switch completely to a mobile service if mobile call costs were dropped.
However, the report also found that despite the availability of converged technologies – ones that offer both voice and data services on the same network – most switching of services related to landlines and mobiles.
