Centrica Energy said that the new system would help it to increase plant availability and reduce unplanned outages to a minimum. Alex Spring, programme director at Centrica Energy, said, "The project will make the capture, sharing, comparison and analysis of information more effective and efficient through the use of common methods and processes, supported by a single system."
It is also expected to underpin cost-effectiveness in key areas of activity such as plant maintenance, engineering management and procurement.
The 18-month programme involved implementation and training carried out as a collaborative effort by Centrica Energy and Capgemini UK, with team members from across Centrica Energy, from Capgemini UK and from a Capgemini development centre in Mumbai, India.
