Corporate desktop users still the biggest security headache

Despite increased mobile working and IT outsourcing, firms fear network security threats via staff desktops the most.

Research from IT security firm Sophos reveals that 31% of companies believe remote or mobile users expose their networks to the greatest threat, compared with 25% who consider guests or external contractors the greatest danger.

However, 44% believe standard desktop employees are actually more likely to expose their networks to attacks.

The Sophos survey was based on online responses from 210 companies.
