SAP is to launch new e-commerce and web-based customer relationship management services as part of its Business One package for small and medium-sized enterprises using technology gained through the acquisition of Praxis Software Solutions.
The move marks the latest step in the battle for the SME market between SAP and bitter rival Oracle.
SAP will integrate Praxis’s NetPoint Commerce and NetPoint Focus packages into Business One to enable users to set up online stores and to integrate e-commerce sales data with CRM and other business systems.
NetPoint Commerce features include shopping-cart functionality, theme templates and online customer support. It is scaleable to allow users to set up as many stores as they want, with stock and pricing integrated with SAP Business One.
The NetPoint Focus online CRM package adds sales campaign management and prospecting capabilities to Business One.
Both products have been available as extensions to Business One, but will now be integrated into its core development.
