Oracle has announced seven new plug-ins for its Grid Control to add support for a series of Microsoft products.
They are designed to cut the cost and complexity of managing IT environments that include both Oracle and Microsoft software by allowing management control through a single integrated product.
They mark an effort by both companies to increase integration between their products.
The plug-ins extend Oracle Grid Control's application and service level management, configuration management, grid computing automation and reporting capabilities to Microsoft’s .net Framework and Windows Server System, including SQL Server.
The plug-in for the .net Framework allows users to manage their entire application environment, including .net and Java architecture, while the SQL Server plug-in is designed to offer rich monitoring of SQL Server databases and their applications.
