Research in Motion has unveiled the latest addition to its Blackberry mobile device. The Blackberry 8700c wireless handheld offers e-mail, phone, web browsing, MMS, SMS and organiser applications.
Although the 8700c offers faster response times, particularly in running local applications, analyst firm Gartner does not recommend relying heavily on these applications because of the proprietary nature of RIM's Java 2 Platform Micro Edition and surrounding platform.
The 8700c offers support for viewing attachments. Memory on has been increased to 64Mbyte flash Rom and 16Mbyte SRam.
