TeleWare grows enterprise hosted IT

TeleWare continues to expand in the UK enterprise market.

TeleWare continues to expand in the UK enterprise market.

The hosted business communication solutions provider has appointed new staff in both customer facing and development roles, and is actively recruiting new IP-centric sales channels.

Teleware said the market was growing because businesses were increasingly using converged IT and communications systems and realising the benefits of converged data and telephony-based applications.

The company said that today’s solutions were invariably complex hybrids that required the end-user to have knowledge of both voice and data systems. A further requirement was an understanding not only of industry-standard protocols such as IP but also of the established telephony architectures, which were more often than not based on proprietary protocols and hardware.

According to the company, for the foreseeable future solution sales will remain either “forklift upgrades to IP” or require integration expertise and an awareness of both IP and telephony unavailable to many organisations.

Tony Knight, managing director of TeleWare Group, said, “The difficulty for most enterprise customers today is that while they recognise the value of converged applications and accept the market will in the long term move towards a software IP solution, they live in a real world.

“The issues they face are related to making best use of existing systems and building hybrid networks accommodating the early IP telephony solutions based on proprietary hardware that we are seeing shipped today, while having plans to migrate strategically based on sound infrastructure ROI arguments.”
