Serverless communications provider Popular Telephony has announced a strategic partnership with Commoca, a US designer of advanced IP embedded solutions.

The agreement enables the integration of Popular’s Peerio embedded middleware into Commoca's high-end touchscreen IP phone, whose TNETV1050 VoIP technology comes from Commoca’s partnership with Texas Instruments.

Popular said the touchscreen IP phone would act as an intelligent, self-managing and self-healing telephony device for serverless, peer-to-peer enterprise and broadband communications.

Commoca will market the phone to large enterprises, SMEs and home users.

“We're excited at the advances in IP telephony announced today by Popular Telephony and Commoca,” said Angela Raucher, IP phone business manager for TI's VoIP business unit. “This certainly opens up more opportunities for VoIP technology in the burgeoning peer-to-peer enterprise and broadband communications industry.”
