Mobility infrastructure company Apertio has announced an OEM agreement with Telcordia, a global provider of telecommunications software and services.
The deal supports the wireless industry's move to open, standards-based IP multimedia subsystem networks, enabling operators to roll out new services without overhauling existing network infrastructure, and to efficiently and effectively scale to support significantly more subscribers.
Telcordia will brand and offer to mobile operators Apertio's suite of open mobility applications, including Home Location Server, Home Subscriber Server, Portability Server, Equipment Identification Server, and other intelligent network products. Telcordia will deploy and support the applications, with 24x7 support from Apertio.
John Hayduk, group senior vice-president at Telcordia, said, "Mobile operators are increasingly focused on the offering of new services, rapidly and with the ability to quickly scale. The Apertio applications provide Telcordia with capabilities that afford operators key tools in their pursuit of new revenues."
Apertio's suite of open mobility applications are designed to help eliminate the complexity and cost of the core network, reducing operating costs by as much as 50% and cutting time to provision new services.
