IT directors are losing the battle to maintain a healthy work-life balance, according to research by business continuity firm Synstar.

Some 83% cannot sleep for worrying about their jobs and 94% of directors regularly take calls outside work hours. Some 70% said they were worried about the instability of their IT systems.

Of the 700 IT directors surveyed across Europe as part of Synstar's annual Pressure Point Index, 95% work more than 37 hours a week and over 40% admitted to skipping breaks and missing lunch to catch up on their work.
