Linux supplier Lindows.com said it will continue to help Californians with their legal claims against Microsoft, despite the efforts of Microsoft lawyers to stop them.
Microsoft lawyers demanded that Lindows' MSfreePC site stopped processing claims on behalf of California residents who qualify for proceeds from the settlement of a class action antitrust lawsuit against Microsoft.
The lawyers contended that claims made by the Lindows service will not qualify under the terms of the settlement and demanded that Lindows take down its website.
Lindows chief executive officer Michael Roberts sent a letter to Microsoft chairman Bill Gates stating he believed the site performs a valuable service for consumers and that his company intended to keep it live.
