Networking vendor D-Link has added a new series of Fast Ethernet Media Converters to its range of networking products.

This latest addition extends Ethernet capabilities by connecting networks to different floors and separate buildings, to extend distances between servers and workgroups in a full duplex working environment.

This family of media converters, the DFE-856, the DFE-857 and the DFE-858, are small, stand-alone, portable units that allow the conversion of signals from Fast Ethernet 100base-TX cabling to fibre optic specifications.

These converters are also an ideal solution for IT managers who want sections of their network to benefit from the efficiency features associated with fibre-optic media types.
