"Now you are able to gain diagnostic information on how applications are performing inside the firewall, as well as outside, even though the testing is done remotely," said Mike Killian, product manager for PointForward.
PointForward provides reliability, integrity, scalability and performance monitoring testing, said Killian. The application status is viewable via a single portal-type interface: the portal can tell users what problems exist, where in the network they are located and what the cause is.
Monitoring behind firewalls can provide a competitive advantage for customers, and a single view into the applications running a business is critical, said Theresa Lanowitz, an analyst at Gartner.
PointForward 3.0 will be generally available in late October.
