Global IT and telecoms recruiter S.Com Group has introduced Japanese management techniques to its business with the recent launch of a 'value management consultancy' service.

Drawing on practices found primarily in manufacturing industries in Japan, the company says its new approach redefines current recruitment techniques and provides clients with a total audit of their use of staffing agencies, to identify areas where costs can be reduced and quality improved.

"The IT and telecoms recruitment marketplace is definitely moving towards customised service solutions. Clients want the supplier to take more responsibility but at the same time are wary of total outsourcing," explains John Housham, S.Com's principal value management consultant. "We're not talking rocket science here. We are simply introducing proven management techniques and quality based teamwork, with ourselves, the client and other suppliers, to add value to the recruitment function."

As promotion for the service, S.Com is to invest up to £6,000 of its consultancy time to audit the resourcing processes of "strategically important clients".
