Argos's online sales grew by 5% to £0.7m from January last year.
Online sales contributed 35% of Argos's sales, up from 30% a year earlier, Argos's parent company, the Home Retail Group, reported.
Total sale at Argos rose by 3.9% to £1.922bn.
Terry Duddy, chief executive of Home Retail Group, said: "Argos has performed ahead of expectations in its most important trading period."
But he warned: "Due to the uncertain economic outlook, we expect trading for the next financial year to remain challenging."
