Virgin Media boss Kiwi Neil Berkett has pledged to donate £1,000 to the charity of choice of every England batsman who scores a 50 during the series.

Apart from getting lots of publicity, the gesture is to celebrate the national roll-out of the broadband provider's 50Mbps broadband service, which is nearing completion.

With Collingwood and Pietersen on 64 and 65 respectively (at the time writing, one hopes that Berkett soon regrets his generosity.
