SAP has unveiled plans to make SuccessFactors its core cloud-based HR product, which will integrate with its main ERP product family.

SAP said it would continue to offer the SAP ERP Human Capital Management (SAP ERP HCM) on premise for core HR, but going forward it will offer talent management through SuccessFactors. The talent management components include Performance Management Compensation Management, Recruiting and Learning Management. Jeff Kristick,vice president product marketing at SuccessFactors said the company is looking at integrating cloud-based HR with SAP’s ERP, but going forward SuccessFactors will look at how its products can complement Business ByDesign, the SAP cloud-based SME product suite.
He said, “Once the integration is complete, customers with on-premise SAP HCM will be able to licence the SuccessFactors application.” He said businesses that use both SAP and SuccessFactors, will have out-of-the-box integration.
SAP said the integration will enable users of Successfactors to take advantage of SAP’s mobile an in-memory database technology called HANA.
“We now have fantastic opportunities in combining SAP innovations with SuccessFactors’ expertise and assets in the cloud. We are already seeing amazing results by improving SuccessFactors Employee Central performance 1000x — from nine minutes to 200 milliseconds with SAP HANA, enabling HR executives to do real-time workforce analytics and planning,” said Vishal Sikka, member of the SAP Executive Board, Technology & Innovation.
